Luke explains that public markets represent a shrinking share of the economy, making it harder to capture broad U.S. growth through stocks and bonds alone as more companies stay private. As a result, exposure to alternatives is becoming increasingly important, especially as many innovation-driven sectors like AI, energy, and space remain largely private.
